Be able to communicate and present ideas and outcomes to different audiences.

Magazine Advert

This is an advert for the new Mac book pro. As you can see by the clever use of photoshop it is playing on the idea of being paper thin.

This is more of a guerilla magazine ad, however it is still very effective. It plays on the idea of deforestation. By turning the page you are essentially cutting down trees.

TV Advert

This is a clever 3D animation advertising the new renault. It is tying in the modern age with their new car. Branding it as a car for the future that is available today.

This is advertising the new toyota. Using a animated catton look and a catchy song, it's target audience can quickly identify with it. Also they play on the idea that this new car has new technology built in rather than old technology put on.

This is advertising the new VW car. By using the iconic character of Darth Vader from Star Wars it makes the advert memorable and recognisable. Also perhaps that they are advertising this car as something out of this world. It also makes it a family car because it is as if the child is playing with the car.

Guerilla

This is a guerilla add advertising some nail varnish. By putting some object in a random space it makes people notice it and therefore feel drawn to it. This is also an example of installation art. By using a simple technique to get the bottle to seem like it is stationary in  the air makes it almost seem like the picture is photo shopped.

This is another guerilla advertisement advertising Denver water. Obviously this seems to be generating awareness of conserving water. This is symbolised by their only being one space and one seat on this bench.

This is a striking advertisement and is a target for environmentalists. The way that the gun seems to be shooting smoke into the air makes it look like man made is killing the environment. Their is a reason they use a gun and it is because it is man made and kills quickly. Urging people to change their habits on preserving the environment.

Web Banner

These are examples of web banners and are usually placed at the top of web pages. From what we can see from them each individual one seems to follow a theme of style and colour and text. For example the porche and audi advert at the bottom has a black and white look with a vintage appropriate text to go with it.

The reason why web banners have themes are that they need to stand out from the rest of the website that they are adversing on.

Be able to generate and refine ideas in response to given briefs

During this unit we have been asked to design and produce an advert to promote and sell an item of our choice. Our group decided to choose the Renault Twizy. This is a new and revolutionary car that has been designed for inter city driving. The first thing we did as a group was brain storm ideas onto a mind map. We came up with unique selling points for the car that the website gave us. Also by using the website we could use this to our advantage to help sell the car. We liked the idea of it being small and cheap, but good quality. We then went off and did individual experimentation.

To create this image I first came up with a concept. The main concept being that the twizy bowls over the competition. Also the tag line "Small but tough" was a play on an idea that the car is like a bowling ball.

Know How To Generate Ideas

Character Bio

I chose form the list these two words. "Legendary" and "Shield". I chose them at random by picking a number but then got to work. The main point i wanted to get across in the concept art was that the shield was the main item. This is why i spent a little bit more time on the shield, developing it and shading it.

The idea behind this was to make the shield into a dragon face. This was to give it meaning behind it. The reason i wanted it to look kind of like a dragon head is because the hero carrying it, would possess the power of the dragon. This could then spiral off into other stories. For example, there are more than just one of them, or the wielder becomes the protector of the land, or the destroyer depending on how you use the power. This gives it a good and evil side.

This was an idea that i came up with from the same sheet as i did last time. I picked Epic and Sky. Here i wanted to really dramitise what was happening. This way you would really know what the main point of this concept art is about. For example, i've put very little detail into the characters in this image, and i have generated some hard light in the top right, drawing your eye to it. I also have a solider looking in awe at the light to make it seem unbelievable.
